AAC in Action

Image
cc Sometimes AAC fails because its taught and practiced in isolation!  In fact, some may find it hard to imagine what AAC could look like inside of classroom activities, occupational therapy, adapted physical education, and with peers.  However, thanks to the  Emerge Center , we've filmed an extraordinary AAC session that demonstrates all the above! In this video, you will observe Jackson, a 5 year old boy diagnosed with autism and fine motor deficits. He participates with a small group of peers in a craft activity that targets key vocabulary before going to an adapted PE session.  The AAC device is used and modeled in all environments! - Professionals in the video: Christie Zeringue, M.A CCC-SLP Missy Devillier, LOTR Occupational Therapist The Device SpeakForYourself  iOS application with iPad -
